Rondoletia leucophylla is in the family Rubiaceae. Commonly known as Panama Rose or Bush Penta, it is a shrub growing up to 5 feet tall native to Mexico. This species is a very popular landscape plant in tropical climates where it thrives in areas with full sun. The flowers are arranged in a dense cluster and attract many pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds. In the evening the flowers of the Panama Rose also give off a strong, sweet smelling fragrance.
